WINTER is upon us, and Artspace Gallery is embracing it with a series of artists’ talks and demonstrations.
From 2-4pm every Sunday in June, July and August, a local artist will demonstrate their work and answer questions.
First up on June 4 is Marg Lacey, an award-winning realist artist who works in oils, pastels and watercolours, and succeeds in capturing the moment in line, light, beauty and atmosphere. Enjoy afternoon tea while watching her create a painting.
- June 11: Dennis Leversha is famous for the murals he has produced throughout Gippsland, as well as being a fine artist. Local beaches, old vehicles and wrecks of historical buildings are just a few of his subjects.
- June 18: Former art teacher Judy Soerink describes herself as a romantic realist. She enjoys painting people at leisure, and will enjoy showing you how she does that in her favourite medium of pastels.
- June 25: Watercolourist Maureen Loughran’s inspiration is drawn from nature. Watch how she captures the moods of the land and sea around her.
The demonstrations will be accompanied by a delicious home-made afternoon tea ... all free!
