PictureBass Coast Shorts invites entries from local filmmakers.
By Marny Javornik

DO YOU have a story to tell? The Bass Coast Shorts film festival is seeking submissions for our next festival in April 2025.

Bass Coast Shorts has hosted two very successful festivals over the past two years in partnership with the Bass Coast Shire.

In 2023, we were delighted to have film makers from all across Australia in attendance who were generous in talking about their film making experiences and processes. It was also great to have people of all ages participating and submitting films about subjects important to them.

We would love to grow the festival in 2025 and welcome submissions from people who have a story to tell. It could be a personal story about your family or your life experience, or a completely fictional story.

The coastal environment is a rich subject as well, and the beautiful region we live in lends itself to films about farming, the sea, the history of the people who live here, local arts and artists, and First Nations peoples.

Submissions for the 2025 festival close on November 30  2024, so now is the time to get your creative juices flowing and create something magical to be seen on the big screen.

The categories for submissions are:
  • Open (local, national and international)
  • Coastal living
  • Environmental
  • Animation
  • Music Video
  • Documentary
  • First Nations
  • Schools/Under 18s

To submit or for more information go to filmfreeway.com/BassCoastShorts, or email [email protected].
