ARE you a local grower, producer of food related items, distributor, veg box scheme host, or just interested in buying more of your food locally?

We all eat food, and reducing food miles and supporting local food networks is one way to increase our resilience as a community and reduce our emissions.

BCCAN (Bass Coast Climate Action Network) has supported the Bass Coast food collective from its inception.

This weekend we are hosting a visioning session at the Bass Community Hall on getting more local food to local people.

We want to hear from you about our local food systems, what’s working, what’s not working, what you would like to see happening, and some of the ways we can work together to make that happen.

This session will be hosted by the current steering group of the Food Collective, a consortium of local organisations, growers, and passionate people who want to see better systems in place. This group got together to put an application into council to help put together a Business case for the Collective and find better ways to get local food to local people. We need your input!

Meet other local growers, increase your networks, create new connections, find out new places to get local food, discuss challenges and opportunities and put forward your views in small groups in this facilitated session.

For those who can’t make the in-person session, a similar session will run online on Thursday. These are free sessions but bookings are essential:

Live session, Bass Hall, Saturday, Nov 20, 2-4pm

If you can, please bring along a little something to share for afternoon tea

Online session, via Zoom, Thursday November 25, 7-8.30pm

Please share amongst your networks. We really want your voice captured in this process and want to see you in at least one of the sessions.

Naomi Coleman is convenor of BCCAN and will facilitate the sessions.

Thanks Helen. Unfortunately we have had to postpone the sessions but we are looking at doing them next year.
