By Julie Paterson

I MOVED to Wonthaggi in August 2023, but I am no stranger to the Bass Coast.

With a background in art, I've been invited to contribute monthly photo essays to the Post. These are not series of works, but rather a collection of photos as I explore the region taking photos and observing contrasts.

The photos will be predominately landscapes but will also include local events, local people and odds and sods. I hope you’ll enjoy my monthly offerings and the evolution of this new inclusion to The Post.

Good grief Julie Paterson, where have you been hiding? I'm already a huge fan of your work based on this edition alone. Soooo looking forward to seeing more of these exquisite and varied images! If you come over to Phillip Island Milawul to take photos, feel free to share some with me for posting on the Phillip Island Conservation Society Fb page (3500 + followers).

Hi Christine!
I have taken some at the Island in various spots, but I’m due another visit soon. Some of these could be included in the BCP photo journal in the future.
I’ve got you bookmarked if I think some shots would be suitable for your page, as long as it’s not commercial - which I’m gathering it’s not - I’m more than happy to share them around. Also, if you have any relevant events just let the Post know.
Thanks for your lovely message!
