VENTNOR artist Josephine Allen’s new exhibition, Stories, Scapes and Sojourns, features paintings and drawings inspired by landscapes, allegorical stories and travel sketches.

Kent is fascinated by the stories within stories, the way patterns in nature can inspire imagination. Bark on a tree may suggest a bird, an angel, or an elephant.

In her fifth solo show since 1984, she is showing works that span the period, connecting the past with the present, including new artworks together with some personal favourites.

New works include over 20 miniatures which will form a mini exhibition within the exhibition.

Kent is bringing her works out from the studio to the gallery and you can even take them home straight away.   She will replace them with another work, so it will be a continuum and worth more than one visit.

Stories, Scapes and Sojourns is at Saraghi Gallery from December 17 until January 22 and open each Saturday to Tuesday 10am-3pm or when the café is open. The artist will be in residence during these times or by appointment.
Join Josephine for drinks at her opening today (December 17) from 1-3pm. All welcome.

Saraghi Gallery is behind Cafe Lugano, 71 Thompson Avenue, Cowes. 0421 310 204 or [email protected].

Thanks everyone for a lovely opening and all the visitors so far. It has been great hearing you stories about your favorite landscapes and sojourns. Happy Christmas to Bass Coast Post and all the readers.
