Virtuoso pianist and organist Jon Wade will be special guest when the Jackson Four perform at the Phillip Island Jazz Club next weekend.

IT’S a long way from the stages of London’s renowned music clubs and recording studios to Kilcunda, which is the new home of virtuoso piano and Hammond organ player Jon Wade.

Wade, who has performed with a range of artists in Australia, the UK and across Europe, will bring his talents to Phillip Island when he joins acclaimed blues and jazz quartet The Jackson Four as special guest at the Phillip Island Jazz Club in Cowes on Sunday, April 15.

The Jackson Four, who hail from Melbourne’s Southern Bayside and the Mornington Peninsula, have been busy on the national and international music scene over the last few years. Their first release, Love the Life, entered the UK Blues top 20 charts in 2015 and stayed there for four months.

Last year their release Kool Kats - The Jackson Four was launched at the Devonport Jazz Festival with a live-to-air concert on ABC Radio. The UK launch followed in August with a live-to-air performance on Scottish Jazz Radio during the Edinburgh International Festival.

This is the second time the band has been invited to the Phillip Island Jazz Club, where they received a fabulous reception last year at one of the club’s monthly Sunday jazz sessions.

They are looking forward to performing their New Orleans flavoured blues and jazz for local music fans with their local guest, Jon Wade, on the organ and piano.

Jackson Four with special guest Jon Wade, Phillip Island Jazz Club, Sunday, April 15, 2pm. The Bass Room, Ramada Resort, 2128 Phillip Island Road, Cowes. Tickets on sale at the door.
