PHILLIP Island and San Remo businesses are lining up to showcase work by local artists in the Queen’s Birthday winter arts trail. Now all they need is the artists.

The trail is a project of the Phillip Island RSL, which is seeking to make it an annual evcent.

Organiser Maxine Sando says participating artists don’t have to be members of the Artists Society of Phillip Island. All are welcome to participate at no cost. “We have more businesses than we have artwork so we really encourage your participation.”

Works will be displayed over the Queen’s Birthday Weekend and the following week in local businesses from San Remo and across Phillip Island. Artists can sell their artwork with a small commission payable to the business hosting their work.

Applications close at noon on May 22. Works must be installed on June 9 or as negotiated with the participating business. Email [email protected] or apply online at www.phillipislandrsl.com.au.

Hello,
I was forwarded this information by a friend and found that this Monday is the closing application date. I Live in Wonthaggi and I am a full time artist designer after 7 years in New York. I would very much like to contribute. I am trained as a Sculptor and Designer and I have pieces that may be suitable for businesses and the trail. Would you please contact me to give me some more information.
Many thanks!
And Regards,
Josephine Sibley
