ARE there any community energy projects in Bass Coast? I run a business. How do I reduce energy emissions and costs?

Are rebates available to help residents switch from gas to electrical appliances?

Bass Coast Council has launched its Community Action Portal, known as The CAP, to provide locally relevant climate change information to the community. The portal was developed as part of the Council’s Climate Change Action Plan 2020-2030.

Bass Coast Mayor Michael Whelan said it was another step in Council’s commitment to raise awareness of climate change and its challenges. ““Relevant, trusted and locally specific climate related information is an important enabler of community action. We know our community wants to support local action in the climate change space.

"It’s for everyone, from those who are interested in raising their awareness of climate change, to people who are already climate change champions.

“The online portal will also allow the community to engage and interact with actions identified in the Plan.”

The CAP will provide information to support community action and include local climate indicators as well as monitoring and evaluation to track the progress of the Climate Change Action Plan.

It links to community groups and projects that support climate action, case studies and free external advice or resources.
