FORMER Bass Coast mayor Jordan Crugnale has been selected as the ALP candidate for Bass in next year’s state election.

Ms Crugnale faced off for the pre-selection against Nathan Sanjay, the ALP candidate for the seat in the 2014 election.

Her selection was announced by the ALP on Thursday.

Ms Crugnale, who has worked in community arts and community development projects, was a Bass Coast councillor from 2012-16 and mayor in 2016. She did not seek re-election in last year’s council election.

She takes on the current Liberal MP for Bass, Brian Paynter, who won the 2014 election with 54.55 per cent of the vote after preferences were distributed. The ALP was second with 45.45 per cent.

As an ALP member for 45 years, I join with so others congratulating Jordan Crugnale on her candidature for the ALP for the seat of Bass.
Jordan is the candidate that will inspire people to vote Labor.

I stood for a seat that had been held historically by the liberals and won it for Labor for the first time. Seats change all the time.

Jordan has enormous energy, strength, organising abilities and compassion, and living in the electorate.
Having been a local councillor will have expert and in depth knowledge concerning the local area.
The community will have a quality ALP candidate to fight the State election next year, and hopefully an ALP MP in the Andrews Government to represent the needs of the bass community.

If the Andrews Government is going to Reopen the South Gippsland Railway line from Cranbourne to Leongatha" Jordan might get up, But the Bass community is very Neo Liberal Brian Paynter has a very cushy job like what Ken smith had

Let Hope Jordan is about Local causes and issues to represent The Seat Of Bass. Jordan has to be in touch with the Local Community and one does hope its not just all about the Good benefits & great super just for running just to get a seat here, What I'm seeing on her Facebook Page She's not contesting a federal seat. & a few of those causes Jordan is passionate about aren't really state matters. Labor for career politicians hey looks like another Another Jane Garrett prove me wrong Jordan
