THE Corinella Community Market is humble and unassuming, like its volunteer organisers. It cannot and will not compete with the fancy and trendy setups of other local farmers’ markets, but it is about community and spirit.
The market’s origins emerge from that spirit of community. It supports our local producers: Sweetbee honey, produce from Macca’s farm, Coronet Bay free range eggs and service with a smile.
There is an excellent coffee stall, a food truck serving hot chips in brown paper bags, springtime condiments and jams made right here in Corinella, books and bric-a-brac (care of Gwen’s Products at Bargain Prices), vintage, retro, preloved goodies, exquisite handmade local items, including soaps, heat packs, children's wear and plants to add to our community’s never ending local gardens … all a step back in time.
Cross the road and visit the Corinella District Community Centre, our neighbourhood hub for information, support, education and creative arts. Check out the local art, grab a brochure and sit down and enjoy an old-school Devonshire tea, an egg and bacon roll, or a roast pork roll complete with crackling … all hand made with love.
This is a market with a heart. Currently proceeds from the breakfast/brunch stall and the market are going to a project to install automatic doors to make the place accessible for all.
The market has also made significant contributions to other local organisations and causes.
The next market is on Saturday, May 11. All are welcome, including new stall holders. Don’t forget to bring your bag and we hope to see you there!
