​The process has been flawed from the beginning.

Without bipartisan support, the proposal was 
vulnerable to being irredeemably politicised, 
which is what has happened.
When prominent Indigenous people came out
against it, albeit for a variety of reasons, the 
proposal was further weakened.

The last few months have been ghastly to live
through and I worry about what will happen
if the referendum does fail.
